CAS President Lu Yongxiang Inspects CSSAR Hainan Rocket Sounding Department
CSSAR--February 2 (2009) , Mr. Lu Yongxiang, vice chairman of NPC standing committee and president of CAS, inspected CSSAR Hainan Rocket Sounding Department, accompanied by Kang Yaohong – vice director of Hainan province NPC standing committee, and Tian Jing – head of CAS Bureau of High-Tech Research and Development.
CSSAR director Wu Ji introduced to president Lu about the surrounding environment and construction history of the Department, as well as the scientific and applied significance of Rocket Sounding. Mr. Wu reported the Department's crucial advancements since the initiation of CAS Knowledge Innovation Project. Mr. Wu also spoke about the Department's framework of further development and strategic planning.
President Lu offered his high praise for the Department's development, especially its noteworthy changes since the implementation of the third phase of the Knowledge Innovation Project, and he also fully acknowledged the Department's strategic framework and work plan for further growth. President Lu also offered his guiding advice regarding the development of space physics and space environment research.
After that, President Lu inspected the facility area of Hainan Rocket Sounding Department.
