In the closing ceremony of anunal work meeting of CAS in 2009, three foreign scientists were granted the Award for International Scientific Cooperation of Chinese Academy of Sciences on Jan.27, 2010. Roger Maurice Bonnet, chairman of COSPAR, recommened by CSSAR received this honor and consequently our institute has also been commended. LU Yongxiang, president of CAS awarded the medals and medallions to these three scientists. On Jan.28, Prof.Bonnet also delivered a report with the topic of Space Science in the 21 century in CSSAR.

Initiated in 1997, the Award for International Scientific Cooperation of CAS is to commend and honor those eminent foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to promoting cooperation with CAS in science and techmology, in an attempt to encourge more efforts in this respect that will strengthen the CAS’s science and techmology innovation capacity and lead to improvement in its research perfomance, education & training, management and reputation in the international community.
