President of ASI Visited NSSC

On 18 November 2015, Prof. WU Ji, Director General of NSSC, and Prof. WANG Chi, Deputy Director General of NSSC, met with an ASI delegation headed by Mr. Roberto Battiston, President of ASI. Both parties engaged in intensive discussion about NSSC-ASI cooperation in the future and identified some possible areas of cooperation.   

Both sides introduced respective space science programs and the international cooperation they conducted. Italy is one of the countries involved in DArk Matter Particle Explorer Mission (DAMPE) which is the first satellite to be launched under the Strategic Priority Program on Space Science. NSSC proposed to make full use of International Space Science Institute-Beijing (ISSI-BJ) as an international cooperation platform to enhance the bilateral cooperation in the field of space science.

Both sides discussed projects they are interested in and ASI proposed to hold bilateral exchange mechanism to facilitate the extensive and in-depth communication in space science field.

After the meeting, Prof. WANG Chi guided the delegation through a technical visit to CAS Key Lab of Microwave Remote Sensing, Space Environment Exploration Lab and Space Environment Prediction Center.
