Prof. Thierry Courvoisier Visited NSSC

On June 12, 2014, Prof. Thierry Courvoisier, President of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences and Director of the ISDC Data Centre for Astrophysics of University of Geneva, visited the National Space Science Center (NSSC). Nektarios Palaskas, the Science and Technology Counselor of the Swiss Embassy in China, accompanied the visit.

Prof. Thierry Courvoisier was invited to visit the International Space Science Institute Beijing Branch (ISSI-BJ) and the Concurrent Design Facilities at NSSC. Prof. DONG Xiaolong, the Administrative Director of ISSI-BJ introduced the progresses of the operations of ISSI-BJ and made a brief introduction of NSSC with emphasis on the progresses of the Strategic Priority Program on Space Science. During the discussions, both parties exchanged interests for European participations in future space science missions.

Prof. Thierry Courvoisier expressed his keen interest in the “ambitious Chinese space missions” and expected more scientific exchanges between China and Swiss.
