Head of SIN and First Secretary of British Embassy in Beijing Visited NSSC

On June 20, Karen Maddocks, Head of Science and Innovation Network (SIN) and First Secretary of the British Embassy in Beijing, visited the National Space Science Center (NSSC), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Prof. WU Ji, Director General of NSSC, chaired the discussion.

Ms. Karen Maddocks gives a brief introduction to the broad variety of areas the Science and Innovation Network (SIN) support. While introducing the ongoing work at SIN, she highlighted that the Network could serve as an efficient and innovative platform to promote the Sino-UK scientific cooperation.

Prof. WU Ji briefly introduced the history of NSSC and NSSC’s major scientific research projects with emphasis on the international cooperative projects.

Both parties engaged in detailed discussion on how to enhance the substantial Sino-UK cooperation in the field of space science. Based on that, support policy and related funding provided by SIN were also introduced and discusses in detail during the meeting.

Ms. Karen Maddocks were also invited to visit the CAS key Laboratory of Microwave and Remote Sensing and the Laboratory of Space Environment Exploration at NSSC.
