On 29 October 2013, the Chinese National Committee for COSPAR (CN-COSPAR) biannual meeting was held at National Space Science Center. YIN Hejun, President of CN-COSPAR and Vice President of Chinese Academy of Sciences chaired the meeting in which over 40 CN-COSPAR members and representatives participated, including WANG Shui, AI Guoxiang, HU Wenrui, and GU Yidong. The attendees come from China National Space Administration, Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Nanjing University and Beijing University of Aeronautics & Astronautics, etc.  

In the opening remark, YIN Hejun put more stress on COSPAR’s function of promoting interaction and cooperation in the field of space science research.

WU Ji, Secretary General of CN-COSPAR, delivered the CN-COSPAR Work Report 2011-2013 and introduced the COSPAR awards application. LI Lei, Deputy Secretary General of CN-COSPAR, made a brief introduction to the preparation work of compiling COSPAR Space Science Activities in China: National Report 2012-2014. The Secretariat introduced the upcoming 40th COSPAR Assembly in Moscow. A session of free discussion on topics touched upon by the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General was then carried out during which the attending academicians, researchers and professors expressed their point of views on some of the topics such as the nomination of awards candidates and the drafting of the National Report.  

YIN Hejun said highly of the CN-COSPAR work during the past two years and extended his thanks to the CN-COSPAR Secretariat and National Space Science Center for the support. He expected the Chinese space science community to make full use of the platform of COSPAR to carry out more activities in a bid to display the achievements of Chinese space endeavor and promote extensive cooperation.
