Contract-Signing for Carrier Rocket Development of Strategic Pioneer Program
BEIJING, Oct. 31--Signing ceremony between Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) was held in Beijing. Wu Ji, Director of National Space Science Center (NSSC) created a strategic partnership with CASC and China Great Wall Industry Corporation by cosigning a space satellite carrier rocket development contract, which facilitates the carry-out of satellite project of Strategic Pioneer Program on space science.
The Strategic Pioneer Program on space science was approved by Chinese Academy of Science on Jan, 2011 as one of CAS’s major project during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”. NSSC is responsible for the overall management and implementation of the program, including launching 5 space science satellites and studying 6 to 7 specific research projects. Carrier rocket is an important component in space science satellite project and one of the key items in the cooperation between Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.
Other leaders also attended the ceremony and made some important addresses. Yuan Jie, Vice President of CASC, points out that there has been a long history of cooperation between CAS and CASC, that CASC will ensure the successful development and launch of carrier rockets, thus facilitating the implementation of Strategic Pioneer Project on space science and laying solid foundation for future further cooperation.
Yin Hejun, Vice President of CAS, emphasizes that the Strategic Pioneer Project on space science is an integral part of the national space science scheme and a major move toward “Innovation 2020”. He wishes a bilateral cooperative innovation so as to establish gradually a management mode suitable for the development in space science satellites and to contribute to a sustainable, rapid and successful development in space science enterprises.
