Professor WU Ji Was Elected as President of IEEE GRSS Beijing Chapter
On Sept 8, the meeting of general election for IEEE GRSS Beijing Chapter was held at NSSC, which is hosted by Academician JIN Yaqiu. 28 experts in remote sensing participated in the meeting from National Satellite Ocean Application Service, Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Institute of Electronics, Institute of Atmosphere physics, Peking University, Beihang University, Zhejiang University, Jinlin University etc.
Professor WU Ji presented the biding work for IGARSS 2016 and the history of Chinese scientists striving to win the bid to host IGRSS meeting. He introduced the preparation work for the next four years.
In this meeting, WU Ji was elected to be the president of IEEE GRSS Beijing Chapter. ZENG Qiming from Peking University, HONG Wen from Institute of Electronics, SHI Jiancheng and ZHANG Hong from Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth and ZHANG Peng from National Satellite Ocean Application Service were elected as vice president.
The participants showed their appreciation to the work of previous President Professor WANG Chao and discussed the promotion, organizing work and finance support for IGARSS 2016.
