White Paper of China’s Space Activities Issued

  On December 29, 2011, China issued a white paper on the space activities since 2006. The white paper titled "China's Space Activities in 2011" was the third white paper on the country's space activities issued by the State Council Information Office, following the one in 2000 and another in 2006.

  There are 5 parts in the white paper: Part 1 on purposes and the principles of development; Part 2 on dedicated to the progress made since 2006; Part 3 on major tasks for the next five years; Part 4 on development policies and measures and Part 5 on international exchanges and cooperation.

  The Chinese government has made the space industry an important part of the nation's overall development strategy and adhered to exploration and utilization of outer space for peaceful purposes, the white paper said.

  According to the white paper, major cooperation with Russia, ESA, Brazil, France, Britain, Ukraine and other major space countries is elaborated.
