Ninth Russia-China Symposium on Space Weather was held in Russia

CSSAR--The Ninth Russia-China Symposium on Space Weather was held in Irkutsk,the capital of Eastern Siberia, during June 22nd to 27th. The symposium was sponsored by China-Russia Joint Research Center on Space Weather (hereinafter referred to as the "Center"). 

Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) signed a scientific cooperation agreement in 2000, with Siberia Branch, Russian Academy of Science(SB RAS). Center was the first joint research institute based on the agreement. CSSAR was the Chinese lead unit and Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics in Irkutsk was the Russian lead unit for Center. Over the past decade, Center held a symposium and exchanged researchers every year.  Chinese and Russian scientists cooperated and made lots of achievement in solar physics, interplanetary physics, magnetospheric physics, ionospheric physics, upper atmosphere physics,and space weather forecast etc. 

More than 100 people attended this symposium, including 22 Chinese deputies. Wang Chi, CSSAR deputy director, was the head of Chinese delegation. Commissioner Wu Yan was the instructor, who came from International Cooperation Agency, CAS. It was decided that Tenth Russia-China Symposium on Space Weather would be held in China in the second half of 2010.
