The 4th China-ESA Bilateral Meeting on Future Space Science Collaboration was held in Beijing

General Affairs Office, CSSAR--The 4th China-ESA Bilateral Meeting on Future Space Science Collaboration was successfully held in Beijing from Sept.17 to18, 2007, which was organized by China National Space Administration (CNSA), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), European Space Agency (ESA), and co-organized by CSSAR, CAS. More than 20 experts and professors from ESA, CNSA ,CAS, Tsinghua Universityand Peking University attended the meeting.

 

Dr. Sergio Volonté from ESA, Prof. WU Ji from CSSAR and Prof. HAO Xi-Fan from CNSA gave a status report on the current space science reaseach & future plan of both sides, then the participants were divided into two groups, and discussion specialized in "Space Physics and Solar System Exploration" and "Space Astronomy and Fundamental Physics" were held respectively.

 

LUO Ge, vice prisident of CNSA, addressed the closing ceremony, he hoped that the China-ESA cooperation in Space Science would be further pushed forward.

 

The 5th meting in this series will be held in Europe in 2008.
