Prof. Goerge Parks from UC Berkeley Visits CSSAR
CSSAR-Prof. Goerge Parks from University of California, Berkeley visited State Key Laboratory of Space Weather and gave a lecture in CSSAR titled Nonlinear growth of Larmor scale Ion structures (Density holes) observed upstream of Earth's bow shock.
Prof. Goerge Parks is working in space science laboratory in University of California, Berkeley, mainly engaging in the space research of plasma. The space science laboratory has established a good cooperative relationship with CSSAR.
In the report, Prof. Goerge Parks introduced ion structures (density hole) in the solar wind observed upstream of Earth's bow shockthrough the data from Double Star and Cluster Program as well as its the nonlinear growth by studying more than 140 of such density holes. This research result is one of the main achievements of Double Star and Cluster Program and has been highly appraised by ESA.
